Therapy Without Judgement or Shame

People in the LGBTQ+ community often struggle to find therapists who are knowledgeable and supportive. Having to explain yourself and your LGBTQ+ identity to a therapist who doesn’t fundamentally understand it can hurt your self-perception and your growth in therapy. We’ve experienced this just like you, and we know how disheartening it can be.

At Full Focus Therapy, you don’t have to wonder if you can be comfortable around your therapist when talking about your sexual orientation, gender, and beyond. We hold a non-judgmental stance so you are safe to be vulnerable in sessions, and collaborate with you to determine what to focus your therapy time on. Why? Because you deserve to feel understood in all your complexity.

What Makes Our Therapy Unique?

Full Focus Therapy is grounded in DBT, a type of behavior therapy that works to develop skills and deepen understanding in areas like mindfulness and emotion regulation. Whereas mindfulness helps people with anxiety notice when they are overwhelmed and endure the discomfort, emotion regulation helps them name the triggers, strategize the best ways to cope, and then follow through.

Individual 1-on-1

Individual therapy is an investment in your mental and physical health. Our individual 1-on-1 appointments enable you to name what is painful, to understand how past experiences or traumas helped to create that specific pain, and to practice using skills to live with that pain in a new way. All of this is in service to the main goal: a full and satisfying life.

Family Therapy

We know all too well how family issues can hinder one’s ability to move forward in life with confidence, strength, and peace of mind. Whether it’s working through past traumas or helping family members communicate to each other in better ways, our family therapy sessions can help provide clarity and healing to those in need.

Group Therapy

It can be profoundly helpful to connect not just with a therapist from the LGBTQ+ community, but with a whole group of people who are moving through some of the same shared experiences. Finding community is healing in itself, and with group therapy you benefit from being able to provide support to others as well as learn strategies for yourself.
